A father’s promise and a seven-month trip to the edge of the solar system. In 2059 Dawn Lucius, an aerospace engineer, leaves his small son on Earth to make first contact with the Sane, an alien ship that has gone silent in the Kuiper Belt. One by one, his crew, his supplies and his ship fail him. What he finds aboard the Sane makes him the Star Map Draftsman, the holder of an office that can bend dark matter, and puts him in the middle of a cold war between three federations of the Orion Arm: Moreth, which owns the Star Bridges; Ashton, which guards a drug that makes people immortal; and Strath, whose princes will go to war for him. The hardest discovery is closer to home. Time has run differently for Dawn, and on Earth seventy years have passed. Federation War is the first book of the Star Map Draftsman hard science fiction series. Note on the text: I write my novels in Chinese. The English edition was translated with DeepL and Grok, and the covers were made with Grok.
